1. Redbud Classic!
On Sunday, I got to volunteer at the Red Coyote Running & Fitness water stop for the Redbud Classic! The Redbud is one of OKC’s biggest races with a great after party, but when you volunteer with Red Coyote, the party starts at the water stop! 🙂
2. “Speed” run
Tuesday evening I ran with my gal pal, Katie, and overall it was a great run. I haven’t seen a sub-1o minute mile in a couple months, so that felt good!! And we had great, cool weather!
I have noticed a bush outside our front window, but David has said it’s just a bush – nothing special…until this year! Look at those flowers!! This was a pleasant and beautiful surprise!
4. Team Sparkle Virtual 5k
Anyone that follows my instagram, probably knows my love for Sparkle Athletic. To be on Team Sparkle, you just have to purchase sparkle merchandise, but what you get is much more than looking awesome when you run. I have connected with people through Sparkle Athletic, including the main “Team Sparkle Girls”. They are encouraging, no matter your size, pace, or place in life. Oh, and Team Sparkle is not just for women, so guys, plan for some sparkle for your next race!
The girls of Team Sparkle recently ran a Ragnar relay race, and in anticipation of their big weekend, they offered a virtual 5k to support their fundraising efforts for Girl Power 2 Cure. A few of my friends signed up for the virtual run so we completed it together on Thursday. We had a kick-butt run with negative splits (including another sub-10 mile!) and then had a medal ceremony afterwards.
5. Wedding reception update!
We have secured a location and date for our wedding reception! Stay tuned for more details…but here’s a little teaser for now…
